Andy was born in Boston on July 10, 1942, to Jane Ohler Thompson and Andrew Thompson. He died on February 21, 2025, following a stroke.
He spent his early years in East Aurora, New York and attended St. Marks School, Princeton University and UC Hastings College of Law. As a US Navy officer from 1964 to 1968 he served as navigator on a ship off the coast of Viet Nam.
He met his future wife, Marylin Millsap, on a blind date at Mills College and they married in 1966. He opened a law practice in Woodland in 1973 and he practiced law until his retirement in 2023.
As an avid golfer he was a longtime member of the Yolo Fliers Club, an active member of the Woodland Kiwanis Club and served for many years on the board of directors of Yolo Employment Services (YES). He played on many city league basketball teams and liked a good poker game. He enjoyed travel, live theatre and was a voracious reader. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s athletic and musical theatre events. He was a tolerant, kind and loving family man and friend.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Peter Thompson. He is survived by Marylin, his wife of 58 years, son Andrew Thompson III (Caroline) of Woodland, daughter Elizabeth Palmeri (Mark) of El Dorado Hills, grandchildren Evelyn and Andrew Thompson and Sophia and Sidney Palmeri, sisters Holly Slaney of Vancouver, Sarah Gervais of Pennsylvania, Jane Thompson of New Hampshire, 4 nephews and many cousins.

An informal memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Yolo Fliers Club for family and friends.
