Betty June Wentz, age 70, passed away Wednesday November 10, 2010 at Alderson Convalescent Hospital of complications from pneumonia. The daughter of Pauline and Alvin H. Lucas, she was an Oklahoma native and longtime Davis resident.
Betty graduated from Davis High School and was a founding member of Pole Line Road Baptist Church. In her younger years she enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid Elvis fan. She lived for a time in the bay area with her then husband Ronald Wentz. She moved back to Davis in 1982 to be near her family. Betty retired from the University of California Davis after working in the Undergrad Admissions Department for 17 years. Her passions included bible study and gardening.
Betty is survived by her brothers, Alvin Lucas of Davis and Donald Lucas of Copperpolis, and by her daughter Courtney Wentz of El Cerrito.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Pole Line Road Baptist Church to celebrate her life.
