Connie Bofinger passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 6, 2013 after a courageous battle with leukemia and congestive heart failure. She was 89. She was survived by her husband Ted, son Bob, granddaughter Bridget, grandson Brett, sister Ena Ennis, three nephews, one niece and their respective families. She was preceded in death by her brother, Col. Robert Work. A wonderful Christmas gift, Connie was born to Ernst and Elsa Work on December 25, 1923. Connie grew up in San Jose CA, attended Los Gatos high school, San Jose State College and San Francisco State College, and spent many years working in cancer research at UC San Francisco. She was married to her soul mate, Ted Bofinger, for 51 years. She was a wonderfully devoted wife, mother and homemaker who was always there when needed, selflessly giving to those around her, and always doing so with her loving trademark smile. Her later years were spent among many friends at the University Retirement Community in Davis CA. The family wishes to thank Yolo Hospice for the many hours of loving and compassionate care which they provided for Connie and ask that donations be made in her name to Yolo hospice, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite A, Davis CA, 95618.
