Corrinne Francies Bressler has died at her home in Davis, CA, with her family at her side, She was born in Kingsburg, CA on June 21, 1925, to Francies (nee Linman) and Walter Roosman. After moving to San Francisco with her family in the 30s, she graduated high school and worked for the phone company. She and David Wilson Bressler married there in 1949. They were married 64 years until his death in 2013.
Corrinne is remembered for having a warm, welcoming home with comforting, delicious meals, surrounded by colorful handmade crafts. She loved reading, movies, painting, animals, and music from Frank Sinatra to opera. She was an accomplished seamstress and made most of her own, stylish clothing. She always appreciated and had a good sense of humour, sometimes mischievous, sometimes silly, but never mean. Supporting humanitarian organizations was important to her.
Corrinne was a life-long learner (she learned to sail when in her 70s) and traveller. She and David and their family lived at different times in Boston, Berkeley, Vancouver, Canada, Florence, Italy, and Sacramento. After 1978, they made their home in Davis, California, where they made very dear friends and enjoyed active lives, biking and swimming their way to the last.
She is survived by daughters Anne and Elsa, grandson Medric Riley, sister-in-law Pat Bressler, beloved nieces and nephews and their families, and many friends. Her family thanks the wonderful staff at Carlton Senior Living Memory Care in Davis and members of the Episcopal Church of St. Martin for all their love and support.
All are invited to attend a memorial gathering at The Episcopal Church of St. Martin in Davis on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
