Darlene Weldon (Sager) Patrick, 90, left this life to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 25, 2022. After raising her family in Camarillo, she had most recently resided at Blueberry Hill Senior Living in Carmichael, near her daughter Sandi so they could get together often.
Darlene’s funeral service and burial will take place at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home in Camarillo, on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Aviation Fellowship at https://give.maf.org/donate (or directly to Robby and Carol Matthews at https://maf.org/missionaries/matthews/ )
Born in Taft, California, Darlene later moved to Ventura where she attended high school and Ventura Junior College, playing clarinet in the band. There she met Raymond Patrick, whom she eventually married after a “whirlwind courtship” of seven years. In between, she earned a business degree from Whittier College.
Darlene worked in bookkeeping, first at Shell Oil in Ventura and then in her husband’s orthodontic practice in Oxnard and Camarillo. Afterward, she served as administrative assistant at Pleasant Valley Baptist (now Bible) Church in Camarillo, where she and Ray were active members for most of their lives.
Hospitality, homemaking, and needlework were among Darlene’s favorite activities. She took great pride in her hardworking husband and enjoyed his unflagging devotion to her. Darlene was also fiercely fond of her family, devoting much of her time to raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren. Spending time with her growing family was her greatest delight.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents, and her son, Jamie Leo. She is survived by her children: Karen (Dennis) Ingle of Redwood Falls, MN; Sandra (Joe) Holland of Woodland, CA; and David (Paige) Patrick of Camarillo, CA. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Amanda Holland, Jeffrey (Lauren) Ingle, Laura (Dylan) Barker, Benjamin Ingle, Taylor (Noah) LeProhon, Patrick Holland, Christy (Jason) Bradtke, Emily Patrick, Timothy (Maria) Ingle, and Deborah Ingle; and three great-grandchildren, Amelia and Lewis Ingle, and Georgia LeProhon.
