Dolores M. Rojas, 85, of Davis, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Sutter Davis Hospital in Davis.
Dolores was born September 28, 1924, in Monterey, California, and was a 40-year resident of Salinas before moving to Davis in 1987. She was a loving homemaker for more than 70 years. She was an excellent dancer with her favorite partner Joe. She loved her trips to Reno where she hoped to one day hit it big. Her fondest memories were those she shared with her family. The love of her family was seen in everything that she had done, everything from the slippers that she chose specifically for each family member, to the parties she loved to throw and attend. Dolores is survived by her children, Edward Rojas of Davis, Robert (Margy) Rojas of Sacramento, Gene (Gloria) Rojas of Salinas; sisters, Hope Bettencourt, Nellie Means, and Juanita Robles, all of Newark, Sara Cuellar of Salinas, Carmen Hernandez of Salinas; brother, George Ramirez of San Francisco; grandchildren, Gene (Jenny) Rojas of Folsom, Diane Rojas of San Diego, and Steven Rojas of Salinas, Monica Rojas and Jeannine Rojas, both of Davis, Edward Diggs, Robert Diggs, Jeff Diggs, William Diggs, Zachary Diggs, and Julianna Diggs, all of Sacramento, and great-grandchildren, Noah Rojas, Andrew Rojas, Karli Rojas, and Ellie Rojas of Rancho Cordova.
A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., August 4, 2010 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at Wiscombe Funeral Home, 116 D St. in Davis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., August 5, 2010, St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B St. in Davis. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery; 820 Pole Line Road.
