We lost Doranne “Dodie/Nonie” Range on September 22, 2021, she was 87. Dodie was born in Falls City, Nebraska on August 23, 1934. She and her family moved to California and then, after their marriage, Dodie and Windy moved to Davis in 1963, where they have lived for 58 years.
Dodie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Dodie loved to garden and travel, especially cruising, and was a collector of antiques and rosaries. Dodie was also very devoted to her faith. Dodie absolutely loved everything Disney. Speaking of Disney, in her younger years, Dodie was the secretary to Walt Disney himself. Dodie was also the bookkeeper for Cricket Construction and worked at Nortronics during the Korean War.
Dodie was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Anna Tangney and Ellen and Pete Mercurio, grandchildren Collin Chandler, and John Cody Badders, as well as daughter-in-law Suzy Range. She is survived by her loving husband, Windy Range, of 69 years; brother Terry Tangney; her three children, Randi Chandler (Mike), Danny Range (Juliene) and David Range; grandchildren Josh Hilliard (Lacey), Jenna Johnston (Trevor), Jaimi Hilliard (Ashlee), Bonnie Christen (Josh), Hannah Range and Johnathan Range; and her great grandchildren Ryanne Green, Connor Green, Chandler Christen, Augustus Curtis, and Finnick Curtis.
Visitation will be in the form of a Rosary at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunday, October 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. Her funeral will held at St. James Catholic Church, Monday, October 4, 2021, starting at 10:00 a.m. with internment to follow at the Davis Cemetery.
