James Huggins

James L. Pete Huggins passed away peacefully from cancer on November 16, 2007 surrounded by family. He was born November 6, 1951 in Trenton, MO.
Pete leaves behind his wife Lynn (Tracy, CA.), son Peter (student at UC Berkeley), and daughter Laura (student at UC Davis). He is also survived by his parents Alice Huggins (Sacramento) and James Huggins (Las Vegas), brother and sister-in-law Dave and Ruth Huggins, nephew David and niece Sarah (Carmichael), sister Mary Huggins (Sacramento), life long best friend Wally and wife Gloria Payne and family (Orangevale), family friend Sandi Kuhns (Sacramento), and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in SC, NM, MO, OK, and CA.
Pete was raised in Sacramento and graduated from Hiram Johnson H.S. in 1970, received his B.A. from CSUS in 1975, and M.B.A. from Boston University in 1996. He retired from the Marine Corp as a Major. He enjoyed his final position for United Technologies Hamilton Sundstrand (Tulsa, OK) as a site Engineering Rep for American Airlines.
Pete had a passion for creating gourmet meals for family gatherings, keeping up with technology, enjoying family and friends, fixing just about anything (from a young age), and hunting. He had a great sense of humor, and was a man of integrity. He will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held on Nov. 28, 2007 at 12:30 pm, at Wiscombe's Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D. St., Davis, CA. (530) 758-5500; followed by a burial with military honors at the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
