Jedediah Charles Learned, 40, of Vallejo, son of Charlie & Joan Learned of Davis, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 of complications from undiagnosed type 2 diabetes.
Jed graduated from Davis High School in 1996. He received a B.A. degree in Creative Writing from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2000. He worked as an appraiser for Marin County. The world lost a creative poet, musician and artist. He loved music - playing guitars, horns and drums. He was a song writer and loved to create works of art. Jed had an immense sense of humor and irony finding intrigue and beauty in the mundane. He had great compassion for those in need and loved animals, especially his dog, Maybelle.
Jed was a well-loved man as a father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to many. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Francesca; brother & sister in law, Will and Katie Learned, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be a memorial service and celebration of his life at 10 a.m. Friday, August 3, at the Episcopal Church of St. Martin, 640 Hawthorn Lane in Davis, followed by a gathering in the parish hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Francesca’s ScholarShare College Savings Plan.
