Joanne Lee Bertero, 74, of El Macero, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008 at Sutter Davis Hospital. She had been an area resident for almost 45 years.
Joanne was born August 12, 1933 in Oakland, California to John and Dorothy Ortzow. She and her husband, Fred, moved from the Bay Area, where they met, to Davis in 1964, where they raised their family in El Macero. Joanne dedicated her life to her family. She thoroughly loved gardening, sport bill fishing, sport hunting, decorating her home, family vacations, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling throughout the world with Fred.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Alfred Fred Bertero of El Macero; sons: Michael of Reno and Mitchell of Davis; daughter, Michelle of Roseville; stepdaughter, Gail Turner of Renton, Washington; daughters-in-law: Laurie and Ginger; loving grandchildren: Travis, Garren, Carissa, Carlee, Matthew, Celine and Zane. Joanne now rests in peace with her youngest son, Matthew.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B Street in Davis. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery. A celebration of Life will follow at the Bertero home in El Macero.
