Jobyna Gankin

We regretfully announce the passing of Jobyna Kingsbury Gankin of Woodland on July 7, 2021. Her husband, Roman of 62 years was by her side and she passed away peacefully.

Jobyna was preceded in death by her father, Hector, mother, Laura and sister, Sheila. She is survived by her husband, Roman Gankin; son, Kevin Gankin (Thersia); daughter, Janna Hurd (Scott); granddaughter, Bella and brother, Donald Kingsbury. After Jobyna attended Hanover High School, she went on to study at Mills College, earning a degree in Music in 1952. Jobyna later received her teaching credentials and taught Kindergarten for 7 years in Davis and Winters. Jobyna was an avid artist and lover of all things. In 2003 Jobyna became chairperson for the Art Committee at the UU Church of Davis where she and her husband were long time members.
