John Nelson

John William (Bill) Nelson of Davis died December 10, 2007 at the age of 83. Bill was born in Davenport, Iowa, and served 3 years in the submarine service in the North Atlantic during World War II. Following his discharge from the Navy, Bill obtained a business degree from St. Ambrose College in Davenport. Bill spent the majority of his life in Iowa and Minnesota where he worked as a sales representative for several large wholesale companies. Bill and Betty Anne, his wife of 56 years, retired and moved to Davis 18 years ago to be near grandchildren. During his retirement, Bill enjoyed working as a crossing guard near Pioneer Elementary School. Bill loved playing golf and bridge, telling stories and spending time with family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife, a brother and sister, 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
