Katherine Taylor Robertson, 73, passed away on June 24, 2024, in Davis, California from complications arising from a pulmonary infection.

Kathy was born in Los Alamos, New Mexico on November 15, 1950, to Ted and Caro Taylor.

She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Scripps College in Claremont, California where she met David Robertson. They married on June 5, 1972, one day after graduating from college. Kathy and David went on to have three children, Emily Bronwyn, Michael Colin, and Meghan Whitney.

After various writing jobs Kathy joined the Davis Enterprise and was staff reporter from 1984-1992 where she focused on education and investigative reporting. In 1992 Kathy joined the Bureau of National Affairs where she launched and wrote copy for the California Health Care Report. In 1995 Kathy joined the Sacramento Business Journal where she covered health care, law and lobbying, labor, workplace issues and immigration until 2016 when she retired. Kathy continued to do freelance writing up until the time of her passing.

Throughout her life Kathy was involved with volunteer and charitable organizations focused on issues related to immigration, poverty, voting, hunger, and climate.

Kathy’s family and friends remember her for her selflessness, kindness, and commitment to others. She showed a desire to make the world a better place. Kathy loved the outdoors, travel, theater, and being silly with her grandchildren. Shewas admired for positive outlook and zest for life.

Kathy is survived by her mother, Caro Taylor, of Olney, Maryland, three brothers, Bob Taylor (Betsy), of Brinklow, Maryland,Chris Taylor (Donna), of Chestertown, Maryland, and Jeff Taylor (Bernard), of Brooklyn, New York, one sister, ClareHastings (Steve), of Washington D.C., her husband, David Robertson, of Davis, California, her daughters, Emily Ignacio(Victor), of Folsom, California, and Meghan Krato (Nico), of Eresing, Germany, her son, Mike Robertson (Jennifer), of CitrusHeights, California, and four grandsons and three granddaughters (Bailey, Taylor, Tate, Myles, Shyla, Malena, and Lilia).
