Matthew Leon Williams was born on 18 November in 1961 at Travis Air Force Base, California. Matt is survived by his wife Ki Cha Williams, his two children Daniel Lloyd Williams and Kimberly Lynn Park, his brothers Michael, Mark, and Christopher, his two sisters Debra and Theresa, and his mother Sadie Marie Williams. Matt is predeceased by his father Marvin Lloyd Williams. After graduating from Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Davis, California, Matt enlisted into the United States Air Force, following his father’s footsteps. After completing Air Force Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base and technical training school, he was assigned to McClellan AFB, CA; Taegu AB, South Korea; Travis AFB, CA; McGuire AFB, NJ; Andersen AFB, GU; Mountain AFB, ID; Camp Humphreys, South Korea; Hickam AFB, HI; Buckley AFB, CO; Osan AB, South Korea; and lastly, Fairchild AFB, WA which he served as the Section Chief of Mobile Communications Branch, 92d Communications Squadron. Matt knew what it took to be successful in life, and took advantage of his opportunities. It was at Hickam AFB, HI that he received his Associates Degree in Communication. Matt was well respected and people were drawn to him. He served his country in support of Operation Just Cause (Panama Invasion) and Operation Desert Storm and was recognized for outstanding performances in both. After a very eventful and exciting career, Matt retired honorably as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) from the United States Air Force after having faithfully served 28 years. Matt and his wife relocated to Las Vegas, NV to be near their son Daniel and subsequently then moved back home to Davis, CA to be near his mother, brothers and sisters. Matt’s viewing was held January 10, 2010, and his burial was held January 12, 2010 at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
