Michael McCracken

Michael James McCracken, 71, of Winters, CA passed away suddenly at Vaca Valley Hospital on August 23, 2017.  Born in Sacramento, CA on October 13, 1945 to Elwood and Gladys McCracken.  He graduated from Grant Union High School in 1963.  He served for the United States Army during Vietnam War from 1964-1967. In 1967 he was honorably discharged and received medals for good conduct, National defense service and sharpshooter.  He met the love of his life, Wilma ‘Sue’ Pinkston in 1971 on a blind date.  They married on August 19, 1972 and had two beautiful daughters.  He was a very loving, loyal, hard working son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.  Preceded in death by his parents Elwood McCracken and Gladys Shera McCracken, and his wonderful wife of 32 years Wilma McCracken.  He is survived by his sister Mary Gorski, his daughters Tawnya Martin and her husband Jeff Martin, Courtney Whitacre and her husband Don Whitacre, and his five grandchildren Barbara Ciera Martin, Robert Martin, Stewart McCracken, Rion Martin and Desirae Whitacre.  Friends and family gathered for an honorary Military service at the Winters Cemetery on September 1, 2017. He will be missed by all!
