Pat Jordan-Fletcher

June 10, 1936 — February 10, 2017

Pat Jordan was born Patsy Joyce Hahn on June 10, 1936. She was the third child of five to Eddie and Wanda Hahn. They traveled as a family a lot as Eddie sought work and better conditions for his family. They moved from Ozark, Arkansas to Corpus Christi, Texas to San Pablo, California and back to Tulsa Oklahoma. Then finally they moved to California again. Pat finished high school at El Cerrito high in the Bay area. When the Hahn family traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Pat worked as a Car hop taking orders from drivers for hamburgers, where she met John M Jordan. After a time, the two got married. Eddie Hahn and family made one last jaunt to California to seek work as a sheet-metal worker and joined local union #216. He told Pat and John that there were good paying jobs in Oakland California. So, the two and their new daughter Sherry made the trek to Oakland California. John and Pat lived in Oakland for 10 years. With the rising crime and war protest, Oakland was too much for their family that was now Sherry, Tina, Randell, Roger, and baby John. They were interested in moving their family to a safer place. Luckily, Eddie and Wanda Hahn stumbled across Winters thanks to a flat tire. They found the gas station and everything else closed on that Saturday for the youth day parade 1970. They told Pat and John about it as they were looking to move to St. Helena or Oklahoma. Pat and John moved their family to Winters in the summer of 1971. They quickly adjusted to the laid-back town of Winters and Randell Jordan was even elected youth day mayor in 1976. John M Jordan fell ill with cancer. The family struggled for the next three years. John M Jordan died March 18, 1981. As Pat was adjusting to the loss of her husband, her daughter Tina gave birth to a full-term stillborn child in 1983. While grieving from seemingly endless disaster, Pat's daughter Tina died in 1984 of leukemia, Leaving Patsy Joyce Jordan with two granddaughters Christina and Lucinda to raise with her son John still a young 13 years old. She continued working for businesses around Winters. She worked for the City of Winters in the Police Department for several years until retiring and taking on a volunteer job to help her father Eddie who is in his 80s. She continued serving the community by helping the elderly at the community center. Pat ultimately became the manager there at the elderly nutrition program in winters in 1988. She helped developed all aspects of the elderly nutrition program in Winters. She continued to work there 20 hours a week for the next 10 years. She also worked for the city of winters at the community center providing access to the public and coordinated events at the facility. During this time, she was married to a co-volunteer named Floyd Fletcher in 1996. They worked and vacationed and enjoyed life's golden years together. Retiring again in 1998, she continued to volunteer for the elderly nutrition program for several years more. Her father, Eddie Hahn, died in late 1999. Pat was awarded the title senior citizen of the year in 2007. She ended up in the very parade that had guided her to winters 37 years earlier. Pat's brother Carol Edward Hahn died at the end of April 2007. Pat's mother Wanda Elizabeth Hahn died in September 2008. Pat's second husband Floyd Fletcher died in October 2009. Pat's sister Sally Duvall died on February 3, 2017. Pat passed away quietly surrounded by her family on February 10, 2017.
