Patricia Irene Burns Harbour, born to Thomas and Margaret Daughenbaugh Burns on 30 July 1932 in Casey, Iowa lived her mortal life with joy, compassion, love, and strength. After a good journey, surrounded by love, she departed this life on 17 October 2022.
After living in several places for much of her young life, she settled with her family in Davis, CA in 1968 into a neighborhood community that is unparalleled in longevity and friendship.
Patricia grew up in Iowa before opportunities brought her father to the Hanford Project. It was there in Richland, WA she met her future husband (Thomas) and graduated from Richland High School in 1950. As the Korean War beckoned an enlisted Marine, Patricia and Thomas were married.
Those first few years being a wife and mother were a challenge, but Patricia joyfully persevered and loved her family deeply. She supported them, just as they loved and supported her. Both her daughter, Viccie Jane, and her husband, Thomas Clay Harbour, Sr preceded her in passing. The reunion of mother, daughter, and father is joyous.
Patricia's love of family, animals, books, music, flowers, plants, and life was obvious to those who knew her. She loved “all things bright and beautiful”. She was extraordinarily loving, charitable, and thoughtful. Her spirit lives on in all of those who serve, love, and treasure goodness. She formed strong bonds with good people. She will rest at the Davis cemetery next to her husband, daughter, father, and stepmother, surrounded by the love she brought to so many.
She is survived by Tom Jr., his wife, their four children, and eight grandchildren as well as her beloved sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Patricia asked that in lieu of money spent on flowers donations be made to the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation (https://oif.org).
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 9:00 - 9:45 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (615 Elmwood Drive, Davis, CA).
