Patricia (Pat) Hecht, resident of Davis, California, died Thursday, November 2, in San Francisco, surrounded by her family.
Pat was born September 24, 1940 in San Francisco to William and Maxine Fullendorf. She attended St. Anne’s Grammar School, Mercy High School, and earned a Bachelors’ Degree from San Francisco State University.
Pat taught elementary school in San Francisco and Copperopolis, California. She later worked at Longs Drugs in Davis and retired from Woodland Community College where she worked in Student Services.
During her retirement years Pat gave generously as a volunteer at the Davis Senior Center. She served as a Senior Peer Counselor through the Yolo County Older Adult Program and later through the Citizens Who Care program of Yolo County where she made weekly visits to Seniors in need of support to navigate life’s challenges.
Pat also participated in the City of Davis’ Citizen Police Academy along with other events and organizations which support the community of Davis.
One cannot remember Pat without being aware of her insatiable humor, her generous spirit, her genuine love of people, the arts, and the San Francisco Giants.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, William and Maxine Fullendorf of San Francisco, her brother William (Bill) Fullendorf of Foster City, and her son, William Earnest (Bill) Hecht of Pleasanton. She is survived by her loving friend, Margot Loschke, daughter Patti Hecht of Elk Grove, daughter Margaret (Peggy) Hecht Traverso and son-in-law Murre Traverso of Davis, and Nancy Hecht (Bill E Hecht) of Pleasanton. Pat was a loving Grandmother to Tyler (Patti Hecht), Dylan and Joshua (Bill E Hecht), and Shelby and Joey Traverso (Peggy Hecht Traverso)
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Davis Senior Center from 11;00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Davis Senior Center, 646 A Street, Davis, California 95616.
