Patty Jean Whitaker

Patty Jean Blevins Whitaker, 88 years, died on August 28, 2022, in Woodland, California.

Patty was born in Drumright, Oklahoma and was the oldest of eight children. She was preceded in death by her son Gary Whitaker, her parents Wade and Etta Blevins, former husband William Whitaker Sr., and siblings Dorothy Blevins, Ramona Blevins, Marthetta Razza, Robert Blevins and Howard Blevins.

Patty is survived by her son, William Whitaker Jr. (Dawn), and her grandchildren Amy Martinelli (Kenny), Jason Wade Blevins, Eric Whitaker, and great-grandchild, Hailey Martinelli.

She is survived by her brothers and sister in laws, LeRoy (Elsie) and Orville (Barbara) and Sherilynn Blevins. She also has many nieces and nephews.

After attending schools in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Southern California, Patty graduated from Huntington Beach High School. After attending Grau Business College in Long Beach, California she was employed by the Long Beach Tuberculosis & Health Association and Long Beach City College. She moved with her family in 1966 to Davis, California and worked in the family-owned automotive businesses. She also was employed by the City of Davis Recreation Department for two years and the Davis Senior Center for eighteen years, retiring in 1995.

At her request, there will not be a memorial service or funeral. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, California.
