Paul Narr

September 20, 1965 — August 10, 2008

Born September 20, 1965 and took his own life August 10, 2008. Paul arrived in this world with an identical twin brother in North Sacramento, California. His family moved to Davis soon after. Paul graduated Davis High School in 1984. Following high school he worked for Goodyear Vanderhamm Tire Center for a few years. In 1992 Paul graduated from the Sacramento Center Police Academy. In 1994 he proudly followed in his fathers footsteps by joining the Davis Police Department. During his career with the Davis PD, Paul worked as a patrol officer; motor officer; detective; SWAT team member and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Paul worked with the Community Response Team and the Citizens Academy. He presented to community groups and participated in charity fund raisers. He was also active with the Davis Youth Academy where he was a favorite of many Davis youngsters. He received many commendations during his career that acknowledged his outstanding professionalism and customer service. He demonstrated respect, compassion and sensitive treatment of all suspects and victims, including a suicide attempt intervention in 1994. Aside from being a genuine nice guy, Paul was also recognized as an intuitive and productive investigator. He was known to all in law enforcement as a cops cop. Paul and his family reside in Winters, California. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife Michelle and their two beautiful children: 5-year old daughter, Peyton, and 2-year old son Jack. In addition, Paul is survived by: twin brother Walter Narr III of Pollock Pines, and his wife Cathy and their two sons Eddie and Jake; sister Anita Boone of Davis, and her husband Jeff and their two sons, Adam and Eric; father Walter Narr Jr. and mother Leona Narr of Pollock Pines, Uncle John Young, and many cousins. Paul is also survived by numerous friends and extended family. Paul was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Services will be held August 15, 2008 at the First Baptist Church at 38141 Russell Blvd., Davis, at 2:30 p.m. Donations can be made to the Peyton and Jack Narr College Trust Fund at First Northern Bank, 434 2nd Street, Davis (or any First Northern Bank branch).
