Rex Richardson

Rex C. Richardson, 95, a resident of Sacramento, California for the past four years, passed away April 10, 2008. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Rose Richardson of Sacramento. Prior to living in Sacramento, Rex was a resident of Auburn, California for 25 years. His wife of 67 years, Felicia Richardson preceded him in death in 2004. Rex is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Hance of Woodland and Anita Priddy of Vacaville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Rex was born in Salt Lake City, Utah March 11, 1913 to Vance and Dolly Richardson. Rex was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada where he was a member of the Nevada State High School championship football team. He and Felicia moved to Richmond, California in 1940, where he worked in the shipyards during World War II. Thereafter, Rex worked in construction, operating heavy equipment, mostly cranes, for over 30 years. He was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local No. 3 and was one of its longest tenured members.

A time of visitation will be held Friday, April 18, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 511 Main Street in Winters, California.
