Robert Sheehan

Robert Frederick Sheehan passed away at Palm Gardens on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at age 89. Born on Dec. 28, 1924, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was the third of six children.
In 1944 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Guam with the Army Air Corps, where he flew on a B-29 bomber. After the war, he graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in English. He spent a year in post-war Germany with his family, and there began a career in personnel management with the U.S. government that lasted until his retirement in 1986.
A resident of Davis for more than 50 years, he is survived by his wife Rose, son Francis, daughters Stacy and Rachel, and two grandchildren, Amanda Sheehan and Scott Scholes. He is also survived by his sister, Ellen Litchfield of Lake Placid, Fla. He was greatly loved by all who knew him, and will be missed very much. A funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B St. in Davis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
