Sharon Ruth Gini

Sharon Ruth Gini, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Davis California on March 17, 2023. Born February 7, 1945, to Harry Gini and Esther Gini (nee McMeechan) in Stockton California, Sharon was the middle child of the family and their only daughter. Growing up Sharon took tap and other dance classes which later helped her win more than a few jitterbug contests. She was a member of the Edison High School class of 1962 and soon after high school she married and had her only child. Sharon was resilient and resourceful, navigating moves to Hawaii and multiple locations around the country before finally landing back in her hometown of Stockton. 

Most of Sharon’s career was spent in medical administrative roles such as staffing and billing with St. Joseph’s Hospital. She enjoyed motorcycles and rode whenever possible, even attending the granddaddy of all motorcycle runs The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally held in the Black Hills and Sturgis, South Dakota on multiple occasions.

In retirement Sharon moved to Davis to be closer to her family and enjoyed spending time doing water aerobics, watching her favorite tv show Heartland, and attending music events at the Mondavi Center. Her last concert was a pre-pandemic birthday trip to Las Vegas to see her favorite artist Bruno Mars where she danced the night away. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Esther Gini. She is survived by her daughter Sherri Gini of Davis, adopted son Joseph Britton of Davis, brothers Leslie Gini (Mary) of Rancho Murietta and Robert Gini of Stockton, aunt, great-aunt, and recently great-great-aunt to many nephews and nieces.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local chapter of the SCPA or other animal charity.
