Suzanne Valdrow

Suzanne "Suzie" Valdrow passed away in her Davis home on Oct. 12, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born July 6, 1935 in Riverside, CA, and came to Davis in 1972. She was a loving wife and mother devoted to raising her family. After a 25 yr academic break, she completed her education, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree and began her career at U.C. Davis in 1979 in the Dept. of Financial Aid. In 1983, she became a manager in the UCD Dept. of Housing, where she retired in 2000.

Suzie loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed water color painting, swimming, fitness, church, playing piano, tennis, bicycling, knitting, crocheting, and traveling. Her favorite food was Mexican Cuisine and she could always be enticed into enjoying one of her many favorite dishes. Suzie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 yrs, Carl Valdrow and her sons, Donnie, Curtis and Christopher. She is survived by her children Jeff (Kathy) Peters, Donna (Ron) Clift, Cynthia (Rafael) Alvarez and Cary (Jacob) Meggers; sister, Shari (Bill) Plaster; grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Timothy, Monika, and Claire Peters, Rachel, Ryan, and Korie Clift, Danielle and Jenelle Alvarez, Skye Meggers and great-granddaughter, Madison Alvarez.

Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, October 16 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Wiscombe Funeral Home 116 D St. Davis, CA followed by a Vigil service at 7 p.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri, Oct. 17 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church at 14th and B St. in Davis. Graveside service will be held on Monday, Oct. 20th at 10:00 a.m. at Davis Cemetery.
