Timothy Benson, husband to Suzanne Coutchie, father to Elizabeth, Ben, and Nick, grandfather to Lydia, Miriam, Valentina, and Mia, died suddenly due to complications from pneumonia and lymphoma on August 21, 2019. Tim was a 17 year cancer survivor and thoroughly enjoyed life, recently going to visit the new Disneyland Starwars attraction with his family just last month.
Tim was born and raised in Southern California, and worked his entire life in the family business in Winters on Railroad Ave, Six-Pac Industries. Tim raised a family on Hacienda Avenue in Davis, California with Suzanne, his wife and life partner of 46 years. He was 71 years old. His ashes wil be scattered off of Long Beach, CA where he surfed in his teens.
Tim is survived by Suzanne Coutchie, his wife and life partner of 46 years, his three children, four grandchildren, his brother Benny Benson(Marla) of Corona CA, his sister Marilyne Doyle (Mike) of Snohomish WA and his cousin John Benson (Darlene) of Winters, CA.
Throughout the years hundreds of employees worked for him in Winters, California where Tim served as vice president of the corporation, managing a large manufacturing division of the family business. His Winters factory served the west coast, Canada and many truck top dealerships across the country, in Europe, in the Middle East and in Asia. He was fond of the memories of those times, knowing he played a positive part in so many lives.
In the last few months, Tim was looking forward to moving back to Southern California to live out his life with Suzanne, surrounded by his grandchildren and family.
If you wish to send flowers, a southern California memorial has been set up at Six-Pac Recycling 1430 E. Sixth Corona, California, 92879. Flowers are lovely, but research donations may one day spare people like Tim from contracting blood cancers. Donations are welcome in Tim’s name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. www.lls.org
