Tony "Antonio" Martinez

Tony “Antonio” Martinez an immigrant from Spain passed away in his home surrounded by family and friends on May 23rd. Tony was born June 18th 1933 in Lubrin, Spain and came to the United States in 1947. He helped is father and mother Chris and Isabel Martinez on their apricot and almond orchard located in Winters. In 1953 Tony joined the US Army where he completed his education, became a citizen of the United States and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.  After Army service he worked for diamond lumber company until 1970 when he purchased an almond orchard just east of Winters, where he lived until his passing. Tony will be missed by many life long friends and family. His is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances Martinez, Son Joe Martinez; daughter Rosemary Martinez and his brothers Emilio and Joe.

A viewing will be held Monday, June 4, 1018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Winters.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
