Born April 10, 1933, Virginia Joyce McCullough was one of four children raised on a farm in Auburn, New York. She met her future husband Ernest in Andover, Massachusetts in the summer of 1948 and they were married September 21, 1952. The young couple moved to Davis, California, in 1962 where they raised two children, Scott and Beth. Virginia was a doting wife, devoted mother, true friend to all and she has touched the lives of many in Davis. Deeply involved in every aspect of her community, Virginia devoted herself as a volunteer to public education, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and was active in numerous youth organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, Camp Fire Girls and the Davis Aquadarts. The strength and courage she showed throughout her ten year struggle with Inclusion-Body Myositis was truly admirable. She is survived by her husband, Ernest, son Scott, daughter Beth and three grandchildren. Always remember, there are never goodbyes and we know you are in a better place now. You will always be in our hearts.
