Wilmer Wil Leverett passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2011. He was born in Lincolnton, GA on May 3, 1951. Wil grew up in Lincolnton and joined the Air Force at the age of nineteen, serving from 1970-1975. He resigned from the Air Force and obtained his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Wil worked as a Civil Engineer at Travis Air Force Base for 36 years and retired in December of 2010. He settled in Winters, CA and then met the love of his life, Vicki. They married in 1989. The two settled in Winters, and their son, Kelven, was born in 1990. Wil was a loving, devoted husband and father who enjoyed woodworking, mechanics, and driving in the rain. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Wil is survived by his wife of twenty-one years Vicki, children; Kelcey Leverett, Stephen Duffy (Melissa), Valerie Duffy-Mendoza, and Kelven Leverett; as well as five grandchildren. He is also survived by his sibilings Jerry Leverett (Dorothy), Racie Leverett (Maxine), Doris Pollard (Robert), Faye Crawford, Shirley Freeman, Charles Leverett (Ellen), and Delaine Bell (Terry). Wil was preceded in death by his parents Garous and Onnie Leverett and siblings Willie Walter Leverett, and Josephine Harper. There will be a viewing open to the public on March 11th from 10-12:00 AM at Wiscombe Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Winters, CA, followed by a private burial. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 12th, 2011 at noon in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 36681 Russell Blvd. in Davis, CA. Wil will be greatly missed and always have a place in the heart of those who knew him.
